About Me
I like building things that feel good to use.
I spent 4.5 years at Envato working across Placeit and Envato Elements, two products with 600K+ combined users. I started on the frontend and grew into full-stack. At both Placeit and Elements I built and owned the For You pages, surfacing the right data on the main app for subscribed users. I also worked on sitewide rebrands, A/B experimentation, and a Lighthouse push from the 60s to the 90s.
My stack is React, TypeScript, Ruby on Rails, and Node.js. I care a lot about performance, design systems, and the small details that make an interface feel polished.
Based in Guadalajara, MX. Open to remote opportunities worldwide.

Experience
Where I've worked
Envato Elements
Software Engineer
Apr 2024 to Mar 2026
- Built and owned the For You pages for 500K+ subscribers, pulling recommendation data from multiple services into one place and raising click-through rate by 30%
- Pushed Lighthouse scores from the 60s to the 90s on desktop (20s to 50s on mobile) on the highest-traffic pages, tuning INP and LCP in a legacy codebase where most dependencies could not be upgraded
- Shipped marketing and legal landing-page changes on short deadlines, often two days or less
- Worked through the Flow/JS to React and TypeScript migration while refactoring Ruby on Rails backend code
Placeit by Envato

Nov 2021 to Apr 2024
- Built and owned Placeit's For You page, surfacing subscriber data on the main app to keep 123K+ monthly users engaged
- Redesigned the main site and 5 core subscriber pages with Envato's in-house Neon framework and Ruby on Rails APIs
- Ran 50+ concurrent A/B experiments on a server-side testing platform and cut subscriber churn by 15%
- Built GDPR-compliant tracking with Segment and Cookiebot for free vs paid and churn-risk segmentation across the site
- Grew from frontend into full-stack, taking on Rails backend work when the product needed it

Projects
Things I've built
A glassmorphism portfolio with procedural WebGL shader orbs, tiered rendering (WebGL → CSS → static based on device capability), scroll-driven GSAP animations with RAF lifecycle management, and an adaptive OKLCH color system across light and dark modes. Lighthouse 98-100, fully static build.
Song information aggregator that pulls lyrics, BPM/key, credits, sample relationships, and album art from 5 APIs into one page. Streaming architecture with per-component Suspense renders fast data in ~0.4s while slower APIs load progressively. 46 unit tests, GitHub Actions CI.
Personalization aggregator for 500K+ users, dark mode rollout across the platform, and a Core Web Vitals push that took Lighthouse from the 60s to the 90s.
Redesigned the main site and most subsites for 123K+ users. Built tracking infrastructure and helped build an A/B platform that ran 50+ experiments at a time.
