Experience

Where I've worked

Envato Elements

Software Engineer

Apr 2024 to Mar 2026

  • Owned end-to-end delivery of the flagship For You personalized pages, composing shared design-system components and architecting a custom BFF aggregation layer that boosted click-through rate by 30% for 500K+ subscribers
  • Led Core Web Vitals optimization (LCP, INP) on legacy, dependency-locked pages, lifting desktop Lighthouse from the 60s to 90+ and mobile from the 20s to the 50s
  • Shipped high-urgency marketing and legal landing pages under ≤2-day deadlines with pixel-perfect responsive layouts and strict A11y compliance
  • Engineered an Elasticsearch lookup engine to index essential item metadata, resolving query bottlenecks and cutting server costs and latency
  • Operated across the multi-year codebase migration from Flow/JS to React and TypeScript, authoring typed interfaces and refactoring legacy Rails controllers
  • Managed AWS S3 image assets for 100+ hand-crafted segment collections supporting active personalization campaigns

Placeit by Envato

Software Engineer

Nov 2021 to Apr 2024

  • Redesigned the main site and 5 core subscriber pages using Envato's proprietary Neon SPA framework and Ruby on Rails APIs, serving 123K+ monthly active users
  • Developed and optimized a custom Redis cache layer for the main recommendation feed, bypassing heavy database lookups to keep page loads fast
  • Designed and ran 50+ concurrent server-side and client-side A/B experiments on a custom in-house testing platform, reducing subscriber churn by 15%
  • Built a real-time ambient color detection system using raw canvas scripting that adapted the surrounding UI to match a video's dominant tones
  • Built GDPR-compliant user tracking and telemetry pipelines (Segment, Cookiebot) enabling high-fidelity churn-risk and billing-tier segmentation
  • Grew from frontend into full-stack, taking ownership of Rails backend work across the product

Things I've built

This Portfolio

A glassmorphism portfolio with procedural WebGL shader orbs, tiered rendering (WebGL → CSS → static based on device capability), scroll-driven GSAP animations with RAF lifecycle management, and an adaptive OKLCH color system across light and dark modes. Lighthouse 98-100, fully static build.

About Me

I like building things that feel good to use.

I spent 4.5 years at Envato delivering page-level features across Placeit and Envato Elements, two products with 600K+ combined subscribers. I owned the For You personalized pages at both products, architected a BFF aggregation layer for 500K+ users, and navigated a multi-year Flow/JS to React and TypeScript codebase migration.

My stack is React, TypeScript, Next.js, Ruby on Rails, and Node.js. I focus on Core Web Vitals, design systems, and the small details that make an interface feel right.
